Banshu Kirino

A photographer from Kochi, on the Pacific coast of Japan.
A musician first, then self-taught with a camera. For over thirty years he has waited for light — in the four seasons of Japan, at World Heritage sites, and on the red earth of Sedona.

Banshu Kirino

In 2013 he was chosen for Canon's worldwide corporate calendar, the ninth Japanese photographer to be selected. His work has been shown at the Sala degli Specchi of the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence and at the Milan Expo. He serves as a Tourism Ambassador for Kochi Prefecture.

Kochi

Where he photographs

Kochi faces the Pacific on the island of Shikoku. The Shimanto River, Cape Ashizuri, Cape Muroto. He was born here and has never stopped photographing it.
